Exploring the Cinque Terre: Monterosso

Hi chums!

I went on the most amazing holiday with my family to the North-West coast of Italy and to the South of France.

We started out by visiting Cinque Terre - one of my favourite parts of the whole trip!

The first Cinque Terre we went to visit was Monterosso - the furthest away from La Spezia, where we got on the train. Despite it being the furthest, it was only 30 minutes by train which was pretty fab!

Monterosso is the only Cinque Terre with a beach and we went the beach was super crowded. Luckily we're not the sit-on-a-beach-for-the-whole-day-and-get-burnt-to-a-crisp type.

When we got out at the train station it was super chaotic, but if you start heading left towards all the umbrellas, you can get some pretty good snaps looking back on the beach and the amazing rock structure in the centre.

I obviously had to take a cheeky polaroid!

When you get the the end of the walkway there is a tunnel and it seems as though that is the end of Monterosso. All I can say is: make sure you go through the tunnel!! It takes you to the other side of Monterosso, where there is a little town area behind the beach.

I loved the church - those stripes are the one!

After a well-needed coffee stop and a wander round the streets, Monterosso was ticked off the list.

The next Cinque Terre we headed to: Vernazza. See you there on my next post!

Love as always,

Emma
