Downtown Orlando

Hi chums!

The other day I went with one of my friends to Downtown Orlando. I had never been downtown before and honestly it was not what I expected.

We spent a while walking around Lake Eola which is surrounded by palm trees, which to me made it seem like it wasn't a city at all! On one side of the lake there are some tall office buildings, but around the rest of the lake there are residential areas as well as some shops and cafes.

Whilst on our walk around the lake we saw an Orthodox Church across the road (below) and we went inside to check it out. I didn't take any pictures inside the church to be respectful but I was really surprised how different it was to English churches.

We had a wander around Thornton Park which is a really pretty residential area and the houses are super photogenic.

I'm heading back downtown tomorrow to go to Just Puppies, a shop where you literally just get to play with puppies - I'm so excited ahh!

I'll be putting some more pics up soon but thanks for checking out this post!

4th July in Magic Kingdom

Hi chums!

This year I was lucky enough to spend 4th July in the US. This is something I have always wanted to do so I was so excited!

Unfortunately I had in-service training in the morning from 5:30-7:30 (lifeguard training) and then I had work from 7:30-4:00 so that wasn't ideal, but afterwards we headed to Magic Kingdom for a night of celebrations!

It's an understatement to say that Magic Kingdom was busy on 4th July. It was absolutely packed. We were waiting an hour before for the fireworks which started at 9:00. We sat down with our hotdogs and fries from Casey's Corner on Main Street (so healthy yay) and then we waiting with the hundreds of other people.

The castle was lit up in stars and stripes and then at 9:00 the fireworks started. They were really amazing and it was so nice to see a different kind of show. The fireworks were 360, so they were set off from all around the park.

It was an amazing night and we ended up getting back near to 1:00am (and I had to get up at 5:30 for another inservice starting at 6:30am - ahhh). It was worth it though!

A Day at Cocoa Beach

Hi chums!

Last week I went with my friends to Cocoa Beach and we had such a great day! The weather was fab until around 4/4:30 when the storm clouds started to blow in.

It was so relaxing, I read some of my book and I honestly haven't read anything I wanted for ages because of uni and being generally busy so it was so nice to chill and read some Nicholas Sparks (he's my fave).

We spent the day sat by the pier, sitting on deckchairs we rented and trying to sit under the umbrellas so that we didn't get too burnt!

We had some lunch on the pier and we all had kiddie meals because we wanted to save room for ice cream. There would be a pic of the ice cream but it melted so so fast it was a bit of a mare!

I really love beach days so I think we are planning on checking out another Floridian beach soon (maybe Clearwater :o).

Thanks for reading!
