Epcot: Characters and Countries

Hi chums!

Last week I went to Epcot with a few of my friends and we such had a fab time wandering around the countries, meeting some of the characters and having a nice chill time!

I took a few pics as we went round the countries so thought I'd share some. The weather wasn't the best so I'll probably do another post because Epcot is life!

A Day at Magic Kingdom

Hi chums!

Last weekend we all went to Magic Kingdom to get some annual passes so that we can make the most of Disney for the three months that we're here.

Naturally I was beyond excited to go back to the happiest place on earth and it did not disappoint! For one of my friends it was her first time visiting Disney in Florida, so it was so fun going around and seeing her go on all the rides for the first time!

After taking those very instagrammable shots in front of the castle we headed for the rides. We managed to get on quite a few throughout the day whilst also stopping for some snaps with the characters (shoutout to Princess Tiana who was such a cutie!)

We lunched at the Tall Tale Inn Cafe next to Splash Mountain and then we carried on our day, walking around in the scorching heat.

We finished the day by watching Happily Ever After (the fireworks show) which was amazing so look out for another post with purely fireworks photos!

All in all it was a fab day! Although there was rain and thunder and lighting in the afternoon for a couple of hours, it didn't ruin the day at all.

By the time we went home we were shattered, but we had plans to go to Epcot the next day because we are that hardcore (lol).

Epcot post will be coming soon!

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend!

I'm in Florida!

Hi chums!

I am now in Florida where I'll be spending the next three months working, volunteering and probably burning. I am so excited to be here at last after the longest journey ever!

On Saturday morning I set off for Gatwick airport, leaving my house at around 10am for my 1pm flight. Once I got through security I met some other people doing the same Cultural Program and we sat together before boarding the plane.

That's where things started to go wrong. After an hour and a half of wondering when we were going to take off, there was an announcement that the delay was due to a medical problem on another plane. Next thing we know there is a huge bang, the smell of petrol and apparently flames (I was on the other side of the plane luckily!)

This naturally didn't seem very promising and after another 30 minutes I found myself back in the North Terminal, waiting a massive line for a £15 refreshments voucher. Next thing we know, we all receive a text saying that the flight was moved to 6pm.

So, of course, the solution to our worries was to crack out the travel monopoly and eat our feelings with a family pack of Celebrations. I have to say this definitely boosted moral!

The plane didn't actually leave until 7:45 which meant a 6hr 45min delay. Not ideal!

I've generally been pretty lucky with my plane journeys so I feel like I was bound to have a delay sooner or later but I'm not going to lie this was frustrating!

The flight actually went quite quickly though thankfully despite some turbulence. I watched Moana and Passengers for the first time (would recommend) and sat next to a really nice family.

So all in all not a very successful start to the trip but on the up side this is a hugely first world problem and things are sure to get better from now on!

A delay is a delay so you might as well be positive about it, but I hope all of you who are travelling this summer have safe (and on time) flights!

I will be blogging lots more throughout my time here in the US so keep a look out for more posts or if you would like to get notified of when I post you can follow me on Bloglovin'.

A Mexican Fiesta

Hi chums!

June 8th. Election Day. But, more importantly (in my ever so humble opinion) my birthday!

This year was a weird one because most of my friends were still at university which meant I didn't get to see any of them on my birthday. But, never fear, when my mum and sister are involved there is always a party to be planned.

This year my birthday fell on a Thursday and on Wednesday we were thinking of what food to make for our family friends who were going to come round for dinner. After deciding on fajitas things escalated quite quickly and before I knew it several Amazon prime orders had been made with numerous Mexican decorations, because when in doubt, theme it out.

Now, naturally we ordered a piñata because what's a Mexican party without a pinata? However, after naming the piñata Harold which lead to some emotional attachment, it was decided that we wouldn't beat him to death just to get some candy because he was a true member of the Mexican family!

This spontaneous mini party was so fun, with the the decorations and the food. I had a really good time and so I thought I would share some snaps!

I hope you enjoyed this post and that you're having a great weekend!
