Exploring Venice: The Island of Torcello

Hi chums!

Today's post is all about Torcello, which is an island in Venice that is a bit quieter than Murano and Burano, but I think it's worth a visit!

We got off the boat and followed this long path alongside a canal for quite a  way. There were a couple of restaurants and shops selling icecream, but in general there is less there in comparison to Murano and Burano.

At the end of the path way there was an old cathedral and a few other old-looking buildings which were so pretty! The blue sky was so ideal for photos so I was just loving life!

We probably spent around an hour here which was the perfect amount of time. I think out of Murano, Burano and Torcello, Burano is definitely my favourite island, but at the same time I just love wandering around taking a tonne of photos on all the islands (and travelling by boat is fab too!)

Have you visited Venice or the islands around Venice? Where would you recommend visiting?

Exploring Venice: Glass Blowing in Murano

Hi chums!

This is my second post from my trip to Venice and today I wanted to show you a few pictures from my visit to the island of Murano!

The island is so beautiful and I learnt whilst I was there that it is famous for making glass. We were lucky enough to watch a man blow glass in a glass factory. He had major skills - it was insane!

It was really warm in the room because the glass has to be so hot, but this man literally made a jug and a horse in minutes - I was so impressed!

I asked how they changed the colour of the glass and the man said that they use different chemicals (shown above) which I thought was really cool :)

We didn't spend too long on the island because we didn't have time but we found it really pretty and loved our visit!

I hope you liked this post - look out for more Venice posts coming soon!

Exploring Venice: Burano

Hi chums!

A few weeks ago I went to Venice which was AMAZING. I literally cannot recommend a trip to Venice enough because we had so much fun (and the weather was amazing which was an added bonus!)

One of my favourite places I visited whilst I was there was Burano. It's an island about 10ish minutes off the main city of Venice and it's so beautiful!

The houses are all different colours and it kind of reminded me of Balamory (anyone remember that fab TV show?!)

We had an amazing time wandering round and taking a tonne of photos. We also managed to sneak in a cheeky icecream (obvs) because it was so super hot and around 30 degrees (for an English person that's serious heat!)

I hope you liked this post! More posts from my trip to Venice will be up soon.

Exploring London: Shoreditch

Hi chums!

Not too long ago I went to London and had a look around Shoreditch. I had never been there before so it was so interesting to explore everything. It's definitely an edgier part of London and there's not a tonne of things to do but I really loved seeing all the different street art around.

I thought I would share a few photos with you - I hope you like them!

I can't believe that I have lived so close to London all my life (around 30 minutes away), but I have never seen a lot of places. I was given a book for my birthday about different cool places to see in London so I'm hoping to visit them sometime in the near/distant future!

Have you been to London? Where would you recommend visiting?
