A Day in the City: Rome

Hi chums!

I have been so excited about going to Rome for so long because the last time I went I was really young so I don't remember too much. To have the opportunity to go back was absolutely amazing! One of the things I was most excited about was obviously the Colosseum because it's so well-known and I'm a sucker for a monument!

The weather was so perfect on this day so I just couldn't put my camera down!

After taking too many photos to count and falling in love with the outside we decided it was time to head inside and it definitely didn't disappoint! It was absolutely massive and there were 2 different levels you could go to with the standard ticket which we had.

We were told that in Ancient Rome any animals used for the shows would be kept in these corridors down below the stage.

When we finally managed to pull ourselves away from the Colosseum we made our way to the Roman Forum.

We walked up a big hill and looked around some of the ruins including Augustus' house which was so exciting!

It was so hot whilst we were looking around - I loved it!

From the top of the hill there are some great photo op's for the Colosseum and also the Arc which stands next to it.

Once we had finished in the Roman Forum we realised how thirsty we were but, naturally, being in Italy water was not the done thing so we got some ice cream instead - yum!

We walked along to Piazza Navona with our ice creams in our bellies whilst the sun set (how Lizzie McGuire, I know!)

Below are a few snaps taken whilst walking around.

The only down side to our day in Rome is that there were glass walls blocking access to the Spanish Steps which was so sad but it was still the funnest day in Rome!

Thanks so much for reading this post!

Love

Emma
